Just a quick note to let you know that there have been some positive changes. Dan's white blood count is now over 4000, quite
a jump from 0, and he is now able to fight infection on his own a lot better. He will be weaned off some of the antibiotics
he has been taking. They will also start to wean him off the ventilator and the sedative he's been on for the past four or
five days, which has been keeping him "asleep" all that time. Doctor Fingeroth said his LDH is still coming down and much
closer to normal than it had been. His kidney function seems to be better and the swelling, water retention, has gone down
somewhat. She said that the doctors are cautiously optimistic. We're very happy to hear any sentence with the word optimistic
in it! Dan has seemed more aware more often when we talk to him.
Hopefully he'll be able to get back on his treatment of Interferon and AZT Therapy which seems to be working quite well. Keep up those optimistic thoughts and prayers, as they also seem to be working!
