2/13/05 Sunday
Again another sleepless night arising to a battle with the shakes. After a little Demerol and 45 minutes things simmered
down. Being Sunday it’s generally a quiet day except that I have a new attending doctor on the floor. This week’s
doctor Dr. Levine is who I anxiously awaited a visit from all morning. Dr. Levine said there seemed to be some abnormalities
in yesterday’s abdomen CT scan. As to the extent of those abnormalities, he would not get too in-depth until he was
able to compare to previous CT scans. The best news of all from Dr. Levine was that we would be starting the five day chemo
treatment this afternoon. I also had brief visits from the respitory and infectious disease teams. It’s good to know
that even though they’re starting chemo that they are persistent on finding a cause for these fever and low blood pressure
even though I think it’s the lymphoma. More good news is that my blood pressure has been in the safe zone for the last
24 hours. I have to hope and pray that this is a significant turning point for the best and I ask that you please pray as
well.
