2/9/05 Wednesday
Woke up this morning, after probably the best nights sleep since I’ve been here, with a temp of 104.3. My interning
doctor came in and mentioned that the lung specialists would be stopping by because they found some oddities in my left lung
when they did the CAT scan yesterday. They said they’re not sure what it is: possibly an infection or even the lymphoma.
The interning lung specialist that came in this morning said that they may possibly need to do a couple of test involving
sending a small tube down my trachea and into my lungs for a flush or a biopsy.
My interning doctor also said that my sodium is getting low. He believes it’s the result of my body failing to produce
a certain hormone that tells the body when to retain water. He thinks that I am expelling most of the water I am taking in
therefore losing the sodium as well. They’ve also told me they don’t want me drinking more than 4 liters a day
(which seems impossible) and they’ve taken me off the IV fluids.
They sent me off for an M.R.I. of my liver this evening I will have the results tomorrow .While I was gone my primary nurse
ran the risk and did step on the toes of the attending Dr by calling my Dr and let her know how serious this situation has
become she immediately wants to do a chemo therapy as soon as my white blood cells return, it was not until today that I noticed
the tumor in my neck has grown back.
I have to be honest this has been the single most difficult day of this journey.
