Well today has not been very exciting or informative. I did start by receiving my radiation, which went as well as it
could. Only receiving treatment and no x- rays it takes about 6 minutes. Now I have a camera and will ask the radiologist
to take a picture of the "mask" for you all to see.
The doctos also had me meet a respiratory therapist because they think I might have the flu, so they want to check for
the flu and a fungal infection. For all practical purposes he puts a small, three inch, tube in my nose to vacuum stuff out.
It will take a couple of days to hear any results.
They are also concerned with the pain in my liver and spleen area. They don't know what is causing this pain and are getting
concerned enough to send me for a CT scan tomorrow. Personally I think it has to do with all the meds and I.V. fluids I am
getting. This pain never has occured at home.
As for my fever it has done pretty well over the last 24 hours getting up to 101.1 only once, with no shakes involved.
I think that the fevers are a reaction to the lymphoma. Every time I get admitted it's after some sort of treatment. When
we hit it with regular chemo, high dose chemo or radiation it has always been a fever reaction. I think when we hit the lymphoma
it hits back. I asked the attending doctor if he thought it possible but he will not regard that until everything else is
ruled out.
